The Lord's Supper

Who Can Participate in the Lord's Supper?

All who have given their lives to Jesus Christ and have a living relationship with Jesus Christ and follow Jesus Christ are allowed to take part in the Lord's Supper.

What blessings do we experience in the sacrament?

The bread In the first step we eat the bread. The bread is the body of Jesus that was broken for us on the cross of Golgotha. This broken body is given to us in this moment. We have direct fellowship with the body of Jesus. How many people ran after Jesus in Jesus 'time or tried to touch Jesus' body in order to be healthy and healed? During the Lord's Supper, Jesus' body is given to us (take, eat!). What a privilege! What does the book of Isaiah say: "... through his wounds we were healed". Through Jesus' broken body in the form of the bread that we are allowed to eat and ingest in us, we become whole and healthy in spirit, soul and body. What a gift! Lord Jesus, I praise and praise you for your mercy and your grace!

Jesus promises us in John 6:51: "I am the living bread that came down out of heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. But the bread that I will give is my flesh, that I will give for the life of the world ". In the evening meal we eat the bread that embodies the body of Jesus. Thank you for eternal life!

The wine In the second step we drink from the goblet. The wine is the blood of Jesus Christ that flowed on the cross of Golgotha for our guilt. Through his blood we are washed clean of all guilt. Thank you Lord Jesus for walking the humiliating path to the cross of Golgotha to free me from all my guilt!

The direct communion with Jesus is confirmed to us in the Bible 1 Corinthians 10:16: "The cup of blessing that we bless is not it [the] communion of the blood of Christ? The bread that we break is not [the] communion of the body of Christ? "

and so we are allowed to pray in the sacrament.

"Lord Jesus Christ, I thank you that you gave yourself up for me and that you broke your body for me on the cross of Golgotha. I ask you, make me and my family whole and healthy in spirit, soul and body through your broken body, which I can now receive through the bread. Your will be done. Thank you Lord Jesus that you were the perfect sinless sacrifice. Thank you Lord Jesus for your precious, precious blood, which also flowed for me on the cross of Golgotha. Lord Jesus Christ, please wash me clean of all guilt through your blood, which I can now take through the wine. Thank you, Lord Jesus, that you also died for me on the cross of Golgotha. "

With this Lord's Supper we proclaim the death of Jesus Christ until he returns!

The Lord's Supper can also be taken at bedside.

How often should we take the sacrament?

The Bible does not dictate how often we should take the sacrament. But with the Lord's Supper we proclaim the death of Jesus Christ until he comes again! We are blessed to be healed and washed clean of all sins.

Our Lord Jesus introduced the Lord's Supper shortly before his crucifixion, when Jesus wanted to celebrate the Passover with his disciples.

Matthew 26: 26-29 says:

"As they were eating, Jesus took the bread and said the blessing, broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, Take, eat! This is my body. And he took the cup and gave thanks, gave it to them and said, Drink all from it, for this is my blood, that of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the forgiveness of sins. But I say to you, from now on I will no longer drink this plant of the vine until the day when I will drink it will drink with you anew in the kingdom of my father! "

Or:

1 Corinthians 11: 23-26

"For I have received from the Lord what I have also handed down to you, namely that the Lord Jesus took bread on the night when he was betrayed, and gave thanks, broke it and said: Take, eat! This is my body, who will be broken for you; do this in remembrance of me; likewise the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this as often as you drink it, in memory of me often you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
